Whatever you job probation period ends. One you start to recieve benefits you are eligible.
2 :
It depends on the company you work for not the state. If you were already pregnant when you got the job, then you are just out of luck for coverage! You have to have the insurance FIRST!!! You will get the leave, but not the insurance.
3 :
at least 3 months
4 :
Not really sure what you are asking. If you are talking about taking maternity leave...then you have to be with the company for at least a year to get it. However...it is not paid leave. Your complany will give you leave...you just will not be paid, unless you have the sick/vacation built up. That goes for either over a year there or not!!! They cannot fire you bc you are pregnant, and they have to help you in anyway they can whether you have been there a year or not. If you are talking about health benefits...if you have insurance, you will have maternity insurance. Just call your insurance company and let them know you are pregnant, although your ob will do that!!

Check with your company. When my wife and I moved to California she was already pregnant and she had coverage the entire time. Her coverage was in place before we even arrived.

I don't life there but many of my friends do. if you have lots of energy and a fun person you should. there's always something to do, and if not interested there are lots of mamichulas to spend time with... your call. I would if I had the chance.
3 :
Stay where you are, to many people here
4 :
Amazing. But be ready to deal with lots of people and lots of traffic. My friends and I always say that people that are born and raised in Miami are like no others in the US though. Its so diverese that you are bound to have all different kinds of friends and people in your life and you will learn to appreicate them all. The weather isn't too shabby either, but the humidity in the summer is only for the brave lol
5 :
a lot of it is the same as any place else. People are transient here. B/C of this you can make friends easy but most people will take advantage of you if you are not careful. Every guy will try to have sex with girlfriend and still smile to your face.

About I work in Miami, Florida and I was wondering if my employer can make overtime mandatory

I work in Miami, Florida and I was wondering if my employer can make overtime mandatory.?
I always thought that making overtime mandatory was illegal? Please help.

Yes they can. Since Florida is a "right to work" State, they can also fire you for any or no reason.
2 :
Sure they can. And the ability to fire an employee for no reason is because Florida is an "employment at will" State, not because it's a "Right to work" State. "Right to work" means that an employer cannot make Union membership a requirement to get or keep a job. Richard

About Which city is better to live and work in Miami, San Diego, or New York City

Which city is better to live and work in Miami, San Diego, or New York City?
I am going to be graduating for college and my major is Journalism. soon and down to three cities I would love to work and live in. I never been to any of them , but I have been to Los Angeles which is close to San diego. I like New York but I hate cold weather , but I guess I could deal with it. I heard miami is laying people off a lot and I haven't heard anything bad about san diego. Which city do you think is best?

I looked at at the website, but i don't understand how it all works out. For example, how do i get to kendall from palmetto bay.

Work backwards: Look for your destination on the map & note which buses stop closest to it. Then look for the bus stop closest to your starting point & see if the same bus connects the two. If not look for a place where the two routes intersect. You can transfer from there. To simplify things, there is also a directory on the web site that lists all the routes and routes they intersect with.

You can visit for 6 months for visa free program, but you need work visa to legally work ( any job)there. If you do illegal work, the pay is Very low( maybe $30 per day) and when ICE catch you, you may get deported.

Yes it is very difficult. You cannot just move to the United States and expect to get a job like that especially with no local experience. As you may know, the United States in in a deep recession. 1 in 11 Americans are out of work and looking for a job. As of right now it's nearly impossible to find a job especially in Miami Dade County. The unemployment rate right now in South Florida has reached 8.1% since December 08 , higher than the national unemployment rate of 7.6%. So that means 752,000+ are jobless right now. In the tri-county area, Palm Beach County had the highest unemployment rate, with 7.8 percent, followed by Miami-Dade, with 7 percent, and Broward, with 6.8 percent. Most companies are cutting jobs right now so it's going to be quite hard for you to find a job because now you have to compete with a whole bunch of people who probably want the same position. A while ago Miami Dade County was hiring 35 Firefighters. More than a thousand (1,000) literally waited and camped out just to get that job. Out of those 1,000+ only 35 of them got the job. Recently in Davie, as many as 7,000 people showed up at a job fair opportunity, hoping for employment or any important lead. People stood in lines that stretched around parking lots and around corners, some even camped overnight just to be some of the first ones there the next morning. Now that's some serious stuff. That's how bad thing are right now. Tuesday and Wednesday (March 4th-5th) the Miami Dade College is hosting a mega job fair. Thousands of people wrapped around a block for a chance to get their resumes looked over by a potential employer from various industries. Hundreds if not thousands more are expected to show up. To get to the point. South Florida is a mess. If you think you have the time, money, and job to move here then go ahead, but if you do not have a serious reason for moving then don't do it. Check back later in 10 months and maybe things might be better.

You are going to have to do this research yourself. Try contacting these organizations directly: nonprofit theaters, museums, dance companies your Miami chapter of PFLAG Girl Scouts (they have a lot of volunteering opportunities with various camps and activities) state parks Goodwill Planned Parenthood You can find every nonprofit registered in your area via guidestar.org A hospice organization would welcome your help with public events and educational activities with the public. An animal shelter would welcome your help with the same. As for retirement homes -- you aren't going to see people in pain; you are going to see people who would love to learn to use a computer or play on Wii http://www.coyotecommunications.com/stuff/volunteer_with_seniors.shtml See also: http://www.coyotecommunications.com/stuff/teenvolunteers.html You could also create your own volunteering event: http://www.coyotecommunications.com/stuff/goldaward.shtml

N O. You will work where they want you to work, "IF" you get the job.
2 :
yeah because theres miles and miles of BORDER in miami
3 :
Try the coast guard? and prevent Cubans from coming to the US, in there inner tubes.
4 :
I don't think Border Patrol does much in Miami. You could try Customs and Border Protection (which works at any international airport) or the Coast Guard.
5 :
NO The BPs policy now is to place you where you will be needed. You will be stationed on the southwest borders (California, Arizona, New Mexico or Texas) for 2 years to learn the ropes. After two years you can put in a request to transfer. That transfer is allowed according to seniority and need. Don't count on moving back to Miami any time soon. If you are not willing to relocate then do not apply.

Do the new unlocked phones work for the wireless cell phone company METROpcs? if so which phones work miami?
Iv heard of certain frequencies the phones require to work on certain spots do to tower outputs of frequency.. I desire to know what unlocked imported phones work in Miami FL by the METROpcs wireless phone company.. nokia has an estimate of 15 new unlocked phones... which would work with metro today?
Cell Phones & Plans - 1 Answers

They do not. MetroPCS is cheap enough to make sure that ONLY their phones are usable with their service. You can't use other phones with their service, nor can you use their phones for other services. It doesn't matter if it's unlocked. MetroPCS doesn't have SIM cards, and you will not be able to activate your unlocked phone.
